Our idea was simple – bring the past into the present.
In order to bring Waabooyaan into the present, each handcrafted burial wrap features;
- An engineered wood and leather design to ensure structural integrity
- Tanned moosehide body and lacing
- Hand peeled white poplar poles for lifting the burial wrap
- Satin lining, including a head rest
- Our standard size is for an average adult. We can customize a variety of sizes, ranging from children’s to oversized.
Each Waabooyaan can be customized, either by us or by you. Customizing options include:
- Substituting the satin lining for a special quilt or heirloom blanket
- Decorating the outer moosehide with beadwork or painting
- Inclusion of a spirit hole in the moosehide
Each standard adult size Waabooyaan is in stock and available for immediate delivery. Customized sizes may take up to two days to complete.
